Un percorso sotterraneo lungo 25 km, tra gallerie buie ed anguste, pozzi (detti anche “occhi” o “smiragli”), canali laterali e vasche. I Bottini corrono sotto la città, fino a 30 metri nel sottosuolo. Da nord scendono i due bottini “maestri” di Fontebranda e Fonte Gaia: l’acqua raccolta scorre in un canaletto, sul fondo della galleria, chiamato “gorello”.
La nostra passeggiata ci condurrà passo passo sul percorso dei Bottini, per poi scoprire ed ammirare le fonti pubbliche più importanti, da Fonte Nuova a Fonte Serena. Racconteremo la storia, le leggende ed i misteri che si celano nei sotterranei medievali della città.

The Fonti, the long “underground” way of the water through the Bottini
An underground way along 25 km, between dark and narrow tunnels, wells (or “occhi” or “smiragli”), side channels and pools. The Bottini run under the city, up to 30 meters into the ground. From the north of the city the two channels “masters” of Fontebranda and Fonte Gaia start: the collected water flows through a channel on the bottom of the gallery, called “gorello”.
Our walk takes us step by step on the way of Bottini, to discover and admire the most important public fountains, such as Fonte Nuova and Fonte Serena. We will tell the history, legends and mysteries that are hidden in the underground of the medieval city.

Las Fuentes, las vías del subsuelo del agua a través de Bottini
Una ruta subterránea larga 25 km, entre galerías estrechas y obscuras, pozos (llamados también “occhi” y “miragli”), canaletas laterales y vascas. Los Bottini corren debajo de la ciudad. Los dos Bottini “maestri” de Fontebranda y Fonte Gaia bajan desde el norte: el agua recogida corre por una canaleta llamada “gorello”.
Nuestro paseo les llevará a descubrir la ruta de los Bottini para descubrir y admirar las fuentes públicas más importantes, desde Fonte Nuova hasta Fonte Serena. Les contaremos las historias, las leyendas y los misterios que se esconden en los subterráneos medievales de la ciudad.

Les Fonti, le long chemin souterrain de l’eau par la Bottini
Un chemin souterrain de 25 km entre obscurité et tunnels étroits, puits, canaux et réservoirs. Le Bottini coule sous la ville jusqu’à 30 mètres sous terre. C’est au nord de la ville que les 2 canaux principaux de Fontebranda et Fonte Gaia prennent leur départ. L’eau collectée coule à travers un canal au fond de la gallerie appelé “Gorello”.
Notre promenade suit étape par étape la progression du Bottini, pour découvrir et admirer les plus importantes fontaines publiques, telles que “Fonte Nuova” et “Fonte Serena“. Nous raconterons l’histoire, les légendes et mystères qui sont cachés dans les souterrains de la ville médiévale.
